Ray Staroscik

Raymond Staroscik

Raymond has been involved with the Catholic Church for more than 25 years.  Attending grade school at St. Stephen in Detroit, Raymond became an altar server.  In addition to serving the Lord at Mass, he started to take piano lessons from the parish music minister.  It was at the age of 9 years when he began to play music for weekday services and liturgies.   Attending Divine Child High School (under the tutelage of Daniel Urbiel) is when he began to seriously consider a career in Liturgical Music.  However, he graduated from Wayne Statue University with a Bachelor of Science with a major of Mortuary Science.

Raymond worked as Director of Music at The Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, and as the Principal Organist of Fort Street Presbyterian Church in Detroit.  In addition to his commitment to the parishioners and students of St. Linus, he regularly assists directing funerals in the tri-county area.

Raymond has one daughter, Emma Madelyn.  When he decides to take a day off from St. Linus, you definitely can find him working his other job.  If you ever need anything, Ray is the person to go to… however, you might have to bribe him with a pair of “goofy socks” or bring him a cheese and pepperoni pizza!
