For those not yet old enough to participate in the more organized CYO programs, St. Linus offers intramural sports for children.
Intramural sports introduce the children to the athletic experience and sow the seeds of team play and cooperation. Sports opportunities offered at St. Linus on an intramural basis include basketball, T-ball, and coach-pitch baseball. Basketball is offered in the Fall (late September through October) and T-ball and coach-pitch baseball are offered in the late Spring and early Summer. Pep squad is offered for students during basketball season.
Intramural sports are designed to teach players the rules and fundamentals of the games to prepare them for their CYO careers as St. Linus RedHawk athletes. Intramural sports can be the first step for children toward an athletic experience that may continue throughout high school and, in some cases, beyond for those who are particularly talented. The intramural programs are open to all who wish to participate.
